What is a Lash Lift?
The Lash Lift is a revolutionary technique that gives volume, curl and length to your natural lashes. Instead of a perm rod, your Lash Lift technician will first apply a specially shaped silicone shield around the eye. This ensures the product used in the procedure does not touch the sensitive area around the eye.
To give your lashes that desired length and volume, an eye-safe adhesive is then applied to the top of the pad, brushing your lashes upwards. Next, a special lash-lifting solution is applied. This solution softens the bonds of your hair, moulding it into the shape that the adhesive has set them into. After 30 minutes, the adhesive will be carefully removed, and your lashes will be totally flutter-worthy!
Do I need to prepare for the Lash Lift?
See the 'Preparation' Tab.
How long will a Lash Lift last?
Because the Lash Lift uses your natural lashes to create that coveted wide-eyed look, this amazing treatment will last up to 6-8 weeks. Even better, there is no need for any maintenance appointment in between treatments! As with every beauty treatment, results can vary from person to person, and some activities, including swimming for example, can cause the bonds in the lashes to prematurely weaken. If your lash lift doesn’t last the full 8 weeks, the minimum time frame you can repeat the treatment is 6 weeks after your initial procedure.
Can I still use my favourite lash enhancers?
Absolutely! We want your lashes to be as luscious as you like them. Lash growth and thickening serums (like Lilash and RevitaLash), as well as your regular lash tint, can still be used in conjunction with your Lash Lift treatment.
We do not recommend the use of an eyelash curler after your Lash Lift, however, as a Lash Lift gives a much better result than using a curler! But more importantly, using an eyelash curler may weaken and damage your lashes.
Is a Lash Lift the same as an eyelash perm?
No! While the chemicals used in the Lash Lift are the same eye-safe products as in a perm, the Lash Lift has ditched the old-fashioned, over-curling lash perm rollers. Instead, by using silicone pads to lift the lash straight upwards from the root, we can create dreamy custom lashes that are either straight or curled, depending on your desired look.
Will the Lash Lift hurt?
Not at all. A Lash Lift is a totally painless, non-invasive procedure. You will have to have your eyes closed for the duration of the 30-minute treatment, so we recommend you take this time to unwind and relax!
Is the procedure safe?
Yes. The chemical procedure used in the Lash Lift is tried and true, and used by thousands of women around the world.
However, as with any treatment, we recommend an optional patch test 48 hours beforehand. A patch test is simple. Your Vivo Lash Lift Specialist will place 2 drops of lotion behind your ear. After 15 minutes, it will be wiped off and the area assessed for any irritation, redness or inflammation during the next 48 hours. Please enquire about a patch test when you book your Lash Lift appointment.
Will the Lash Lift damage my natural lashes?
No. The chemical procedure used in the Lash Lift is safe for and gentle on your natural lashes. You may experience some redness around the eye immediately after the process, however this will be from the pressure of the pads and should disappear within a few minutes.
Can I wear makeup after my lash lift?
Definitely! If you want to enhance your Lash Lift even further, just wait 24 hours after the treatment to use your favourite mascara. We recommend a non-waterproof mascara as it is easier to remove than a waterproof one, keeping your newly lengthened lashes protected against vigorous makeup removal.
Can I use eye-makeup remover?
Yes, but please wait 24 hours after the procedure before you do this, and make sure it’s oil free.
